March for Life Events
The Diocesan Week for Life beginas on Sunday, May 6 and ends May 12. The week promotes the sanctity of human life and protests the killing of the unborn, the disabled and the elders of our society. During this week, the National March for Life takes place on May 10. We do hope that everyone will try to attend this important demonstration to impress on our federal government that all human life is sacred. The times for some of the major events for the week are listed below:
May 9-10, 2007
- Mass at St. Theresa's Church on Cartier Street at 7:30 pm, followed by the Candlelight Vigil at the Human Rights Monument on Elgin Street(at Lisgar Street)
- All-Night Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament at Saint Patrick's Basilica (basement scavi) - 10 pm to 7 am
May 10, 2007
- Pro-life mass at Saint Patrick's Basilica - 10 am
- March for Life forms on Parliament Hill following the mass and begins at 1:30 with the march through downtown Ottawa
- Rose Dinner with cocktail hour at 6 pm followed by the dinner. To be held at the Hampton Inn at 100 Coventry Road. Tickets required in advance - $60. Call 613-729-0379.
May 11, 2007
- Youth Conference from 9 am to 3 pm at the Hampton Inn.
